About Ms. Cairo
Ms. Cairo
I am so thrilled to be teaching third grade this year! I am even more thrilled to have the opportunity to loop up from second grade, with many of the same children. Together we will welcome our new friends with love and grace, as well as experience the joys of third grade!
I am originally from south Florida, having grown up in a small town called Port St. Lucie. I have a pet bunny named Tot, and a newly rescued kitten named Orlando. One of the biggest fulfillments in life is reading a good book on the beach! I also attend Jaguars Football games frequently as a season ticket holder (if you are ever at a game, let me know!). My love of reading and the Jaguars will most likely rub off on your children...this is your official warning! On a more serious note, I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in education at Florida Gulf Coast University (though I do have to say GO NOLES!). I went on to pursue my Master of Education with a Literacy Concentration at the University of North Florida. I currently possess my Literacy and Gifted Endorsements, and am working towards my ESE endorsement. It is also a hope and dream to become a Waldorf Certified Teacher in the near future! My personal teaching philosophy is to provide a beautiful, joyous education for every child, while remaining true to child development and adhering to the Common Core Standards. At Seaside, we teach all content areas, while infusing the arts at every opportunity. Jacksonville is so lucky to have a gem like Seaside right in it's backyard. I am so blessed to be part of a school inspired by the Principles of Waldorf Education. I am so thankful to be part of this progressive movement in education! |
