A HUGE thank you to the wonderful parent chaperones who made it possible for us to embark on this trip! The children loved being immersed in nature, and learning about the Timucuan Indians. We also had the opportunity to show off some of the things we have been learning at school. Pictures from the TripAiming and Shooting Using an Atlatl! Atlatls are used to throw spears. The Timucuan used atlatls for hunting! Some of the children let me videotape their story stone readings! Enjoy! Clara & GabrielleMorgan & AlanaPeyton & FinnBelow: The sun was in our eyes SO BAD. At least we all look silly and squinty-eyed together(; Below: Enjoying Green Eggs and Ham in the Seuss Cafe. THANK YOU MR. VOGEL!!! WE LIKED GREEN EGGS AND HAM! Below: Pin the Eggs on the Plate
The children made their story stone creations a reality from start to finish. They engaged in very meaningful work last week; unloading the stones from my car (I believe the bag was upwards of ten pounds), washing the stones in the outdoor sink, and carrying them back to the classroom. The children picked the perfect stones, and completed their stories! I hope everyone enjoyed their child's story stones and stories at the showcase! Check out your child's work at the Visitor's Center in St. Augustine from April 4-October 4. For more information, please visit http://staugustine-450.com/ancientcitymosaic/ |
