Ms. CAiro's Third Grade
Eden and Finn are working hard differentiating between different types of sentences while working in a small group! The children completed a candy corn math activity, in which they rolled dice to generate a two digit number. They practiced writing their number in standard form, expanded form, word form, and separating the tens and ones. We practiced estimating and measuring the length of the tables, pieces of paper, the fish tank, and other miscellaneous objects in the classroom. We used unifix cubes for our measuring tools! (Look closely at the picture to see the unifix cubes lined up on the edge of the table)

What a wonderful last day of surfing! All of the children had such a wonderful time in the water and on the shore. We learned so much about our natural environment! I am so thankful to be part of such an amazing learning experience. Thank you to Mrs. Leslie for coming in and helping the children collect materials outside for these beautiful leaf art creations!
Nothing makes a teacher happier than seeing a group of her students forming a book club during their recess time!!!!!!!! Thanks to Book Fair, my children are even more obsessed with books than they were before!
This is quite possibly one of the most amazing things I have ever seen/received! Thanks to Trevor and family for making our class this wonderful mumkin! A HUGE thank you to my wonderful students who wrote sweet messages on the outside (:
So sorry these pictures are up SO late! I couldn't upload my pictures from my phone to my computer! Thank you for your patience. PS. There are a TON of pictures in this slideshow. Make sure to scroll through them all! Last Wednesday, the children created healthy "candy corns" using fruit. They also made wonderful Halloween-inspired artwork (but I will keep that a secret for the showcase)! A HUGE thank you to the Lancelot family for suppling our fruit supplies and helping out last Wednesday! We have been learning about the most efficient ways to count numbers. Through investigation, the children have figured out that counting numbers (up to 99) is easiest when done by tens!
They took turns counting the beans in their bag, then swapped with a partner to count their beans. We are working on writing number words and separating tens/ones. |
